I was just thinking,(duh). Have you noticed, if you hang around the Tech or FI/Nitrous sections, the mods you dream of keep getting more and more expensive? I keep dreaming of big horsepower #'s and I've had my car up over 100mph exactly ONCE. And then all I could think of was going to prison! I love my car so much, but, I don't think I would ever seriously race it. I wish spring would get here, I gotta come back down to earth!

Prison!!! All my friends tell me, (they don't drive corvettes), that I can go to prison if I'm caught driving over 100 mph! Is that a "overdramatization"?

i wouldnt really call it overdramatization... chances are its true. how would you explain to the officer that you were traveling over 100mph when the speed limit is only 55!!!

having said that, i stretch the cars legs over 100mph almost every day. but i guess it depends where you live. ive been lucky so far. 100 is nothing after a while!! next time go for 160!

I dont' think they will send you to prison for 100 mph......
Maybe send you to work some overtime so you can pay the ticket

Depending on the Jurisdiction and the rules, they could arrest you for speeding. If the cop wants...he can charge you with Reckless Endanderment, or Speed Contest. Or they can give you a ticket that requires a lawyer at 1k and a possible 11 points added to your license if convicted. Then there is the reaction from your insurance company that could raise your rates. I personally have not seen anybody arrested for speeding. Being a D**k when stopped , yes you will get arrested. Like SLIDE says...work the overtime....the car is meant for triple digits!!!!!!!

Doesn't matter which section you hang out in, the mods can get expensive. Oh well, what's the saying - you can't take it with you.

100 on I4 is like 65 in a 55 everywhere else. THe cops up there have A LOT more tolerance and everybody is going that fast so it doesn't matter.

I-75 is a great road. nuff said.

I just ordered a complete set of screens from the Vetteshop and he wanted to know where I had heard of him from. I told him I read Corvette Forum just about every day. I told him I really enjoy reading it but the downfall was I keep seeing things that I want. Modding is definetly hard to keep from no matter where you visit here.

My problem is realizing that the rest of the cars on the road did not pop their parachutes because they seem to be going backwards - it's me travelling at sub-light speeds

I have enough HP and gearing to exceed 200mph (not the aerodynamics though) - but I lack the intestinal fortitude to go beyond 143.

Maybe one day...
