Just need a little help. Looking to see if anyone out there knows the size of the existing battery vs the size of the Optima Red top. The car is a 2000 if that makes any diff. I have a coolant tank that currently sits on top of the battery and cannot really use a battery that is any bigger than the stock one. I know the Optima battery has top mounted posts and I have a new tank that will accomodate the posts. Thanks guys.
I think Randy is looking for the height of the stock Delco battery, specifically.
I gave him the measurement of my Optima, which is what he's considering...but if it's much taller than stock, it won't work for him, due to the Mag intercooler tank that sits over it.
A better question (for his sake) may be...Is anyone running the intercooled Magnacharger with an Optima?
I'm using the 34/78 in my 2000. I'm not sure if the battery is the same size, but the side posts are a little closer together. It had more cranking amps for the same money where I purchased it. And I believe the spec. for the 2000 was a 34/78.

Latest Corvette Fever issue claims that the Optima yellow top 75/25
will fit all corvettes (except 90-96). I checked with autozone but they said no. I just send Optima an e-mail requesting the correct part #'s
