Eckler "Lowest Price Guarantee"....NOT!
This a bad experience I had with Eckler corvette parts. I live where they are and the other day I was pricing some Flowmaster mufflers for my car online and I found them in CA for half the price Eckler wanted. I called Eckler because of thier "No Hassle Guarantee". Check out the link to thier site below to see what it says. Anyway, they have a "price match" guarantee "ya right" and I thought I'd just go down and pick up the mufflers instead of waiting for delivery. I told them of the price from the other seller, gave them the web site to verify the price, jumped through ALL the whoops Eckler requires and they say "NO, we won't sell at that price. We will sell them for 10% over our cost". I in turn said "well, thats not what your guarantee states". We went back and fourth over this and the end result was Eckler said "NO" and I bought from the place in CA. I did however report them to the Better Business Bureau and to the local Fraud agency with all the info. They have contacted me back and stated something will be done SOON. I will avoid at all cost doing any business with them again.

i agree with most of you, i always get the catalogs and always throw them in the trash. for the most part they are expensive. but there are PLENTY of people who arent as "internet inclined" as all of us. before there were all these smaller size online companies, people only shopped at companies such as ecklers/jegs/summit etc.
when i first started out with the car hobby, i had no clue of the savings out there on parts. point is, ecklers is still a good company, and just because a bunch of guys think they are too expensive, doesnt mean its going to bring them down.
as far as the price matching, you all have a point. i personally dont feel ecklers should even offer that, but you guys have to understand that they arent going to LOSE money on a sale!! a lot of times these smaller companies buy a HUGE quantity of a certain part, then sell them at discounted prices. if ecklers is is paying "X" amount for a part, why are they going to sell it to you for less than "X"
i post because i have just had my first experience with ecklers just last week. everything went fine, got my parts at a great price, and didnt have to pay for shipping!
spoke with them about the "internet bashing" and i think they, along with me (probably others) are getting tired of all the posts!!

If Ecklers has not complied with their own stated policy, these posts are not "internet bashing" and they deserve to have their reputation tarnished.

I'm no big fan of Ecklers......but I find this bashing humorous.
Just last week I found an item there for 1/2 price of what it was selling for at West Coast Corvette.
Does that mean anything? Only that you're a complete idiot if you don't shop around.
