It comes with a real nice satin-gloss black finish, so paining is not required. Although some have chose to paint, and others have had it done in a Hydro Carbon finish.
Through the years, several folks have asked us to produce these in Carbon Fiber. Producing them in real Carbon Fiber would not only be extremely costly, but more importantly, it would not be practical. The shape of our C5 rear fascia's are ALL different from each other due to panel alignment when originally assembled, exhaust heat & aging exposure. Because of this, our overlay needs to remain pliable & flexible to enable it to form to the contours of your particular rear fascia. Real Carbon Fiber is very firm & stiff and will not allow it to do so. We're therefore looking into a Hydro Carbon finish. Pat at American Hydro Carbon will be sending our sample-overlay back to me shortly. If all goes well, we'll be making them available in Hydro Carbon as well.

I installed mine over the weekend and it looks great. The texture makes it look like an oem piece. BTW, I ordered mine on a Friday and recieved in the next Monday. That's what I call fast shipping
