Default Urgent, please help - c5 owner stranded in little rock, ak

I just this morning sold my '01 C5 Coupe, Mag Red, only 43k miles to a buddy of mine from Grand Rapids, MI, and he just this morning bought it from me here in Dallas and was driving it with another buddy of his all the way back to GR....well, on the way back, he has taken 2 nails, and now is being told that the rear right stock high-polished rim is cracked. They are stranded in Little Rock, AK area, and need any sort of rear C5 stock wheel....polished or not to get home to MI.... Obviously, I feel extremely bad about this situation, as I just sold the car to him this morning. We road tested last night and had no issues....now there are issues.

If anyone can help at all, please speak up. Fastest way would be a cell phone call to Evan, as I believe data coverage for that area of AK is terrible.

Anyone, anyone, anyone in that region of AK, please call either 616-890-2185 (Evan, in AK right now) or me, Christian, at 469-358-3535 right away. I'm in Dallas, trying to help these guys out ASAP.

Thanks in advance for any assistance....

Christian

Bump, have the tire shop mt a new tire, I have seen 3 cracked c5 rims on my own cars, it happens often, most just don't notice

I understand if the shop refuses

must be someone close by with some wagons

good luck

Default 2 cents

If the wheel crack isn't a structural problem and just a slow leak I have fixed them by filling the fracture with liquid aluminum ( or similar ) "on the pressure side" then took a ballpeen hammer and peened the fracture closed. If you want to you could also use fuel tank patch sealer to cover the repair, then remount the tire on the rim. Don't forget to index mark the tire to wheel before removeing the tire. Sounds to me like he ran over the nails causing low pressure and then ran into some potholes.

If ever there was a situation for "fix a flat" or something similar, this is it. I'd dump a can in and pump up the tire and keep rolling. Rim and tire probably toast anyway. A TPS can be had cheap, later. Roll on until some assistance appears or they just might make it home. What a bummer for a new C5 owner to start with on the first day. Good luck sent their way
