did the sandblasting remove all of the chrome,nickel,copper and get right down to the bare metal ?

I recently paid a shop to chemically strip some chrome weels and they had a lot of trouble getting the last final few layers of copper off, so just curious, maybe sandblasting would be a better option next time.
