Default LG GT2 Coilovers - $800

Selling a used set of adjustable LG GT2 coilovers for a C5 Corvette which I believe also fits the C6 (you would have to verify). These came on the car when I bought it, Unfortunately I dont know the exact age or milegage on them. They were removed because I switched to a more track oriented set of coilovers, otherwise I would have been more than happy to keep them. One front coilover has developed a small clunk over rigid type bumps but can be rebuilt by LG. Willing to ship at buyers expense. Shipping would be from Toronto Canada.

How much for the front two? Since the one is damaged and needs rebuilt? With shipping to Fort Wayne, IN USA.
I'd like to switch to a th400 and ford 9in rear end and would have no use for the rear shocks.

found some bad news straight from LG directly.
the fronts have that clunk because the yellow springs are NOT from LG! They are some form of aftermarket. So the the shocks do not run or move in the right spots, wrong pressure on them. LG stated they could be good still but more likely need rebuild.
they stated that the springs are $200 each so 800$ total, then possible rebuilding.
Thank Jason

This is interesting. LG will know their products better than anyone, but changing springs shouldn't result in any damage to the coilover. I guess if you run a much softer spring than intended it could bottom out the shock and cause an issue.

As for the cost of springs itself, $200 each also seems off. The LG g2's is their higher end line which uses hyperco springs and from what I can see run approx $75 each. I could be wrong, but looking at pics it appears the springs the Gt2's come with are not hyperco, and not eibach or swift. They appear to be an off brand of some kind, so I'm not sure where $200 a piece would come from.

Feel free to make a reasonable offer for the rears (or the whole set and you sell the fronts) but keep in mind the price was discounted accordingly due to the issue with the one front shock.

What I told you came straight from LG today, I wish I could explain better what they said about why the spring and how/where it sits could cause damage. But I am sorry.
I will pm you

I called LG motorsports tech's and talked to them for 10min about the whole situation, then relayed it to jdwtx85 over the phone. The tech's even pulled up the corvette fourm while I was on the phone, and as soon as he saw the picture of the coilovers he said "there is your problem, those springs arnt ours, or ment to be on LG GT2s, and they are too large, extending them out to far at their limit" I asked, if I still bought them could they fix them, and he told me they could fix them for 200$ a spring (parts, labor, return shipping) and that it would be better to just buy brand new ones.
Not trying to step on your toes, but just trying to inform you, and get the facts straight. I am no longer interested in buying the front set, thank you.

No worries. I'm going to assume that $200 is the cost to rebuild the shock, not the spring.

Hopefully lg or another gt2 owner can jump in with what length of spring they come with from LG. I just measured the springs and frankly would be very surprised if they came with shorter springs but anything is possible.

Of course, if you can afford it, buy new; however, I do believe this is a decent set for someone looking for a cost effective set.

Best of luck in your search.

To clear the air, and in attempt to sell these to someone in the best of faith, I contacted LG today to discuss the concern surrounding the springs.

I spoke with an employee named Damian (solid guy) and explained who I was, and to seek clarity regarding the springs to ensure I am not selling junk to any unsuspecting buyers. I let him know if there was any doubt I would pull the sale thread thread and shelf them. It became fairly evident, there may have been some broken telephone going on and the message became skewed.

The springs LG use are 6" in length. I didn't ask (though I should have) what their spring rates are, but I am going to bet they are 12kg, or 672 in/lbs. If you look at the number on the LG spring, it is 15012, and likely sold by B&G. The 150 is indicative of the length (150mm or 5.9") and the 12 indicates a springrate of 12 (12kg or 672 lbs). Interestingly, this is the same number on my yellow springs. By all accounts this appears to be the same spring, but for some reason, mine are yellow.

Im willing to split if there are buyers for both front and rears and payment is received for both. You can message jwdtx85 and see if he is still interested in the rears but looks like he was spooked a bit.

I'm not trying to be an ***, but I am getting pm's from different people, then you're jumping in the post with your own input. The offer I received was rather vague, I don't know if shipping was expected to be included in what you guys offered etc. I responded via pm with my counter offesr so I don't know how to respond to your question since I really don't even know exactly what your offer is.
