Default Factory Gauge Overlays by forum member XtremeVette

Gauging interest. I am taking a lot of parts off my 99 to move to the new 03 Z. There is plenty I am leaving alone, though.

I'm asking $275 + shipping unless you are ok with USPS flat rate boxed.

This is one of those things which wouldn't add value to the car when I sell it, so I wanted to see if there was anyone interested in what XtremeVette had put together for me. Feel free to use the Search button on here to find some of his other work. I couldn't have been more pleased.

My concept was this: I wanted the busy factory gauges to be simplified down (fewer half-hash marks and unnecessary measurements and icons) so I could read them efficiently at a rapid glance, and I wanted the speedo / tach to stand out, as well as the gauge arms.

What I had done was to make the speedo/tach reflect blue gauged and the secondary gauges reflect a subdued red. I later turned down the lighting for the secondary gauges such that in the images below they appear less red.

These overlays install over your factory gauges with a very thin tape layer which allows you to fully remove them and go back to factory without issue or damage.

Let me know if you like them. I haven't pulled them yet, but ought to be able to within the next week or two. Compare them against factory, too. To some this change may be unnecessary, but to others it will make sense.

Compare against this factory Z06 dash - this looks fine, I'm just picky.

Bump.

I found an earlier image from when I first installed it and had the red lighting power dialed up. I should note, the Tach/Speedo are on one control and the secondary gauges are on another. You can adjust the baseline lumination through those dials which I installed under the dash. You can then adjust the master dimmer switch and your whole gauge cluster still adjusts per normal.

For that, you would want to approach XtremeVette and see if he still does these. But yes I know I have seen white face gauges in the past.

Oh man I didnt even see that you were selling your own set. I was thinking it was like a group interest buy in. But if you have them in the next couple of weeks I will buy them from you as I purchased the kit from C6performance and am HIGHLY DISSATISFIED.

I will make a point of pulling them this weekend if I have time. If money changes hands, that confirms for sure I'll do that this weekend. I only have one day. But then I do have vacation Memorial day week.

So going back and looking here. Which picture shows the actual color illumination of the gauges? Dark blue or the light blue?

The first two show it currently as taken in the garage with daylight by a cell phone. The bottom one shows it from 2013 or so at night also by a cell phone camera. The top two show with the intensity of the secondary red gauges turned down. The bottom picture shows original setting... Unsure what that was but probably both sets turned almost all the way up.

Edit: I'm on vacation this week. The 03 remains my priority, but I will have time to pull these gauge faces if someone pulls the trigger.

Bump. I'll be working on this car this weekend, so if someone is interested it's a good time to pull the trigger. A&A kit will be coming off, too.

Are you selling the modified cluster or just the overlays?

Just the gauge faces. The cluster must stay with the car, clearly.

Is there something different done to your hud? Yours is a nice deep blue while mine is like a dull light blue

Lighting? Cell phone cam used? A HUD unit which is only 6 years old? A non-HUD windshield? A lot of variables there which I cannot account for.
