I am interested in the stealthbox. Does the box allow room for the factory CD changer or does it need to be relocated?

You will need to move your CD changer maybe to the side comparments.

Sorry, I don't know this answer ... but for sure you can put the original cover on top of the box so you still have a whole trunk to mount your bottle :D

If you read his post, it says:

1.Hang over box for 100$. The box is uncut so can fit any sub with mounting depth less than 7.5". the box is about 1.5 cu ft.

2. Stealth box for 115$. The box is uncut so it can fit any sub with mouting depth less than 7". the box is about 1.1 cu ft. With this box, you can use your original cover to make it stealth looking.

So, after reading this, I would say that the Hangover Box is about 1.5 cu ft. and the StealthBox is about 1.1 cu ft.

mike i would be interested in a stealth enclosure too.i would like to modify the center storage cover so the sub can be seen for shows and also heard.then i would like to get a second center cover and leave it stock for when you have things in the back or for when you want it to go un noticed..what do you think about this?how does your oak rug match the factory color?

If you want the stealth box and show the sub then yes, cut the original cover.
But for the sound, even with the original cover on top of it, full covered, you still can hear good bass, the same bass.
I order carpet from Crutchfield so you can go there and check the color.
I actually don't have any oak carpet, I need to get it from Crutchfield.

I bought a stealth box from Mike yesterday (yes, on Christmas day). He mounted my 10" Solobarik sub in it for me (including 10' of monster cable speaker wire). It looks great!!! Fits my car perfect. On first inspection, it looks like top notch quality too.

I will install my amp tomorrow and let you guys know how it sounds. I will also post pics as soon as I get a chance.

Hey bb,
I am still waiting for Mike to ship my stealthbox. Did the box fit tight in the compartment or did you have to secure it somehow? Are you going to install the stock compartment cover over the stealthbox, or are you going to cut the lid and put a grill on it? Also, what amp did you get and where are you going to mount it?

Hi MT,

The box fit perfect. Mike has a Vert, but I have a Z06. The openings are slightly different in size. He and I met, and he inspected the smaller opening in the Z06. He scaled the box down slightly, and it fits like a glove. I don't have a stock cover yet (still have to pick one up), but I put my buddies on, and it was perfect!! I am still going to secure the box somehow, just in case. My friend had an accident at 100++ in his last C5, and came out without a scratch. I don't think the same could be said if a box smacked him in the back of the head!

I have a grill on the box right now, but will probably take it off when I get a compartment cover. I am running a Kicker Solobarik 10L5. It is powered by a Kicker 120.1 amp. I did the install today. I mounted the amp under the passenger seat (plenty of room since I don't have power pass. seat). The amp is in bridged mode, and is more than enough to overpower the rest of the system. I used the amp's built in low pass crossover to clear out all non-bass sounds.

The system is GREAT. Mike did an excellent job on the box. I am extremely impressed with the sound quality of this setup, and I have owned $6k++ systems in the past. I'll post pics tomorrow.

FYI, I got the amp for $100 on sale at a local shop. I got the speaker for $120 through a friend's discount, but it would only be $165 at full retail. With Mike's box at $115, you could get the full set up for just $380!!! That is much cheaper than a JL Stealth box without the amp, and I think it looks just as good, but sounds much better.

Thanks for the info on your install. Sounds like you have a killer setup. I have everything here waiting for the box to arrive. I got the JBL 1200.1 Amp which should really thump the 12" Diamond MacDaddy that I had Mike put in the box for me. I'd love to see the pics of your install and I'll do the same when mine is finished.

PS - YES, I do use Zaino, how can you tell...:D Actually my car will be nice and warm in my warehouse this winter, which is perfect for another full Zaino treatment.

I have a 98 convertible, any chance you could send me some pictures of the stealthbox? Also, how does the sub you are putting in the box compare to a JL sub?
