I no longer have my 2001 C5 coupe and would like to sell some parts I still own to those who can use them. I plan to be at Corvettes at Carlisle this week Friday and Saturday and would like to avoid shipping things. All prices are cash and carry at the show (no PayPal, Venmo, credit or debit cards). To be clear, the air dam is a TWO piece set. Due to the way our driveway and street sloped, the left corner (driver side) would wear out much faster than the other pieces. I am selling only the center portion and the right (passenger) side.
4. Purchasing an item for sale This section continues to cause the most confusion among potential buyers, therefore, the forum will make this as simple as possible for the seller.
Posting an interest in a sale thread, or asking questions, does not subject the thread to being closed, nor, to the item being sold. An item will be consider sold, when the seller says it is, based on the simplicity of the sale.
The seller will determine who they want to sell their item/product to based on the expediency of payment, payment method, location, and overall ease of transaction. While some may feel that the first to commit to purchase in the thread would make it easy, it may not be for the seller. If another buyer lives nearby and can save the trouble of shipping, etc. the seller can move onto that buyer let's remember, it is his item/product for sale. As such, forum members interested in buying items for sale (including parts or vehicles) should refrain from posting an item is "sold" as it may discourage other members from expressing an interest in the item. Posting a statement such as "payment sent" will alert the seller as well as admins/mods that the item may be sold.
This will eliminate the confusion of "dibs," replies to a thread, PM's, e-mail and telephone promotions/discussions, which has caused nothing but confusion and frustration in the past.
When the seller's price is met, no higher offers can be accepted. If a seller negotiates a higher price with a member who did not win the item at his/her original asking price or an agreed upon price, the seller and offering member will subject their accounts to sanctions that may include a permanent block.
I will look into shipping whatever is available after Carlisle. At this time, unless I misunderstood any of the PMs or public comments, no one has expressed an interest in picking up items at the show.
I will update the thread Sunday or Monday as well as reply to PMs to arrange payment and take care of the business of shipping items.
If anyone planning to go to Carlisle is interested - last chance to chime in.
