Default II State computer indicator lite on emissions

I left the cap on loose and this lite came on; do i refill tank 2x or so, and hope the emission computer corrects itself; the cap was loosely reattached per the instruction manual, and it must be recorrected.
How ?

[B]What i meant to say is, if i left gas cap on loose, and it let air into tank, the check engine yellow lite went on, per manual its says to reapply cap and put in 1-2 fresh tankfulls of gas to reset the epa computer....Is this about average, or should lite go off sooner?

The light will go off by itself after a few days of driving. Wait a few weeks before doing any emission testing. The "code" will be stored in your computer for awhile.
