Superchips programmer
My tuner shop installed the Superchips program along with headers and a 3.42 gear swap for my '98 A4. With multiple mods at once I can't isolate the effect of the re-program. However, the gear scaling, shift points, and shift firmness were as expected. This is a "VIN-Locked" unit that is customized for your car. On pre-99 PCM's there are no "hand helds" that have "user adjusted" parameters. I have not been on the dyno yet so I don't know the A/F ratio, but I have not had any detonation. Since my mods were done too late in the year to get to the strip I can only go with SOTP results. The people at Superchips were very customer oriented. So far so good.

I do not have sound clips. Even if I did they would really not be a basis for your decision.
The Borla Stinger sound actually got deeper not louder with the addition of LT headers. (I am running stock cats and an X-pipe). The sound is "just right" for me- although it may be on the ragged edge for a daily driver. As long as you don't do any burnouts on your local street you will be fine with your neighbors!
The only issue I had with the Stingers was some (not unbearable) resonance at cruise speed/rpm 70MPH/1650RPM that was cured by my 2.73 to 3.42 gear change! There is no resonance at my new 2100RPM cruise!
I am very pleased with my set-up and have no regrets.
