P1870...........Transmission Component Slipping/ Transmission Mechanical
P1870 normally means that the TCC slip error tables were not changed during the reprog and the PCM thinks there is a malfunction (excessive slippage) in the tranny or TC - when there really isn't any problem with the tranny/TC.
Have it on the 00' vert but hope it is the TC not being tuned properly........we will see in a few weeks as it only comes on once in a while and a search on the CF has proven in the past.

This is the same as P0894. This was confirmed by my local GM dealer. Problem was determined to be the LS1 tune not tranny.
Just had tune edited on saturday and so far code has not been thrown...was getting the code every day during 4th gear (A4) cruising on freeway.
After I stopped.... it felt like I had to almost floor it to get it to moove...cleared codes (in panic) and drove home with no more codes.
DAYUM!!
I had a similar experience just two days ago: Jumped on it, the TracCtrl/ActHandl lights went off, and then in big letters, the screen read "Reduced Power mode" or something similar. It ran like crap...like it was on 3 cylinders and I thought it was going to stall in the middle of traffic. Finally, after much sweating and freaking out, I was able to pull over, restart the car and all was fine.

What were the DIC codes?
My Wife tryed to do a burnout in 2nd (I was not in the car........her dad was!) and came back saying the car was broke, not over 35mph in any gear, limp mode, etc, etc.
I went out took it through its paces w/o a glitch!
