Thermostats and tune - general (dumb?) question.
I have an 03 Z06 that I bought with a predator tune. In a thread from yesterday it was stated that the car should have a 180 degree thermostat.
My car is running at an indicated temp of 213 under light load on a 70 degree day, so is it correct to assume that I have a 210 thermostat?
Looking at the car, it looks like the thermostat is in the lower radiator hose instead of the upper hose like all the other small blocks I've had. Is the thermostat under the cover on the lower hose?
Any recommendation on a manufacturer for a new thermostat?

Your stock thermostat would be 192 and I don't think they even make one hotter than that. I would say if yours if running that hot your thermo might be getting ready to fail.
One question, when you say you are running 213 degrees under light load are you doing at least 45MPH? If you are moving 45MPH or over your temp should be down around 190-195 degrees. If you are sitting in traffic and relying on the fans to cool you off don't be surprised to see temps in the high 220's.
