fuel level sensor codes??

fuel level sensor codes??
My buddy started getting 461 and 1431 last week and evidently has gotten them a few times so it looks like it may not be a glitch. Anyone else had these codes and get a fix for them? The codes are level codes from both fuel tanks but I'll have to read as to where to start trouble shooting from. I'm guessing whether it's sensor related or pump related the tanks will have to come out. How reliable is the syphon pump in the left tank that equalizes the tanks?
