Driving me crazy. The car starts and runs but when I go WOT the fuel gets shut off killing the engine and 1626 code is set. It is a theft deterrent feature that cuts fuel when the fuel enable signel is lost between the PCM and the BCM. Anyone had this problem. The GM manuals are not much help since I don't have a Tech II. I have replaced the PCM with no improvement. I'm about to replace the BCM next... Shot gunning this problem is getting expensive.

1626 is a serial data failure between the VCM and BCM.
It can be caused by the two losing track of each other or forgetting "passwords".
Do a BCM re-learn with the editor (Force VCM/BCM relink), write the new calibration and the problem should go away.
(Don't forget to do the key on 30 seconds, key off 30 seconds several times to allow them to "learn" each other).

Load the .bin file you want to relink in VCM Editor
Select Edit->Pro Tuner Functions
Press "Force BCM/VCM Relink", the status will reflect the new status.
Save the file
Open VCM Flash
Select Advanced->Rewrite Entire VCM (note this is not a risk free operation, frying the VCM is possible using this feature)
Select the relinked file (the one you just saved)
VCM will be reflashed...
Wait 15 seconds for VCM to reset
Switch ignition OFF for 20 seconds to allow VCM to save the changes
Switch ignition ON for 20 seconds to verify (SES light should not remain lit)
Switch ignition OFF for 20 seconds
Engine should start and run normally
Seems odd to me that you'd be at WOT when fuel disabling kicks in. I think the VTD system is in fact designed such that fuel is *not* cut off if communication is lost after a successful initial password exchange. What does your freeze frame data look like? BTW, there is also a (long) manual procedure for relinking.
I would be more inclined to think it's something along the lines of a fussy ground.
