Default Help! those with experience, please reply..

I am confused from the all the information on scanners and tuners. I currently have LT1 edit for my LT4 but no scanning program. I also need a scanner and tuning program for my '03 Z06. So, the question is what is the best, reasonable scanning program for both the LT4 ('96 OBD II, of course) and the '03 Z06? And then, would the EFI live be the best tuner for the Z? I get the feeling I could save a few hundred if I had good advise on what is currently out on the market that does all I need. Thanks for all suggestions.

EFILive's scanner *might* work with your LT4. They only claim to support LS1/6 but encourage you to give it a try. I'd suggest posting to their forum to find out if anybody has tried. I searched there but didn't find anything one way or the other. I'm optimistic that it would. Got a buddy with an EFILive setup nearby? The easy way to find out is to give it a whirl.

EFILive can be purchased with both scanner and tuning programs. I've found it to very user friendly. Make sure when ordering you tell them you want both vehicles.

EFILive Scan Tool will work fine with your Z06 but will not connect with the LT4. I am currently waiting on the Mondoax Scanner software to be finished so I can use it with the TC Cable for the OBD2 LT1/4 scanner.

It would be cheaper and a hole lot easier to carry the car to a profesional that Dyno tunes. It is very unlikely that you would be able to tune your car ( for the very best performance) by only useing a scan tool. You would need it on a dyno with a wide band O2 to get it tuned propperly. Itwould be nice to have the scan tool to keep track of what your car is doing though.

I have seen a few guys use the HP Tuners progam to tune their car for nitrous and such after it had already been tuned on a dyno.
