Default Autotap system

Hi Gang

I have a stock 99 Vette, and we are modifying my sons 2000 Vette. Now we know we are going to have some codes come up just from the changes and disconnecting certain things. The changes we are doing are Heads, exhaust, cam, etc. Now will the Autotap scanner do us any good here, or should we go for the EFIlive system. We are going to try and tune it ourself when all done. To my knowledge you cant do any computer tuning/changes with the straight Autotap system. Would it be good to have both systems, or just go the EFI system and be done with it.?

Would like any opinions on the AutoTap system from any one that has used one. And are they good enough with the generic, or should you get the enhanced versions.?

Thanks and take care............Gunny

You won't need the AutoTap. I bought it originally to scan the car. Later when I decided I wanted to tune, I had to buy another product since it scans only. Go ahead and get the product (you mentioned EFI Live) that scans and tunes. I'm assuming that product scans. I have HP Tuners and it does both very well (scanning and tuning).

EFI Flashscan will do it all with one cable. Scans, ties in WBO2,and tunes. You will have more info than you can handle (true for me anyway). Start your studying early and sell the Autotap.
