MAF ends question

MAF ends question
I just purchased Tbryne MAF ends and i have been hearing that these will lean out the car because they have no screen and they inside is few mm bigger in diameter than a stock MAF....is this true??? I do have a Vinci VHP tuner, so cant i just add 5 or 10% more fuel to fix this problem???

depends on how rich/lean you are to start off with. back when i installed the vinci MAF ends on the wife's car, the o2 readings were in the 980mV range. once installed and redyno'ed the same day. they went to 890-910mV. this translates to about 13:1 a/f ratio. to answer your question,yes, you can add 5% 10% power enrichment to offset the lean condition that might arise when you install the MAF ends.

Each car is different, what one car does another might not. You would just have to try them really. And yes, leaning out is a typical thing with MAF ends for alot of people. If it's not a Z06, I would suggest a Pace Maf. They provide LS6 MAF's programmed for the LS1 and do not usually come up lean at all.
