Do you want to remove the MAF, or are you just trying to do some SD tuning work?
If removing, then you will need a separate sensor for the IAT (like a pre 2001 vette). If just trying to perform SD tuning, then you can set the MAF fail frequency to 1. Confirm that the PCM is registering P0101, P0102, or P0103. This will ensure that the PCM is using the VE table vs. the MAF.
