While driving my stock 32,000 mile 97' the DIC shows "OVERTEMP", then reduces power for a second. This has been happening for a while, then stops but recently started again and does it more often. The digital and analog coolant gauge both go well above 220 degree then right back to normal. I have replaced the coolant sensor and thermostat with no luck. I think its air in the system, I don`t know.
The P0117H code came up, wondering if I`m the only one. Not driving it anymore until its fixed.
I found a wear spot in the yellow wire coming from the coolant sensor. It was located where the two sensor wires meet the larger harness. It appeared to be rubbing against the alternator bracket.
I covered it and stated the car, then guages went an stayed right to red, then sliced out bad part of yellow wire, went right to red again. I unplugged sensor and started the car and guages did same thing. I ordered new sensor, it should be here any day now. I`m eagar to get it in.
