Default Predator Settings Help !!!!

What is the best suggested settings that you have seen for the follwing car set up:

Stock Automatic with Blackwing and borla cat back.

Also, the car has had the engine knock at WOT or heavy accel. What predator setting do I adjust to get it out as I have been told several things....ie.....Take out some timing....Lean the fuel???? I really would like to have some good advise and direction. Thanks

This tread was a big help to me as well as reading old posts in this section and conversing with mikemercury here on the CF.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=10

I also have the stock auto with vararam and corsa and also had some knock at WOT in the summertime. After I used the preset Predator tune and adjusted the A/F a little the knock went away and the predator really woke up the tranny too.

Also check (replace) your spark plugs to make sure you did not lose the little platinum pucks on the electrode. This may cause your engine to run rough or possible ping at WOT. I replaced mine (only 30 k on them and some were out of gap a little but no pucks missing)with the new iridium plugs and the Hi Po wires from GM performance. No gain felt but I KNOW they are all good now and will last for several years and they are priced reasonably.

Good luck.

KYWHITE this was your first post and you been a member since 04?!!
Wow, I dont post often but Its nice to put in my 2cents once in a while or ask good questions like you did. Keep posting and learning. I have learned so much here in the last year or so that some of the guys in our club think I know everything about C5 when I just know 10% of what these guys know on the forum - but it make you feel good that you can help or direct someone with a vette.

According to Diablosports (predator),the performance tune that you load from the Predator is for a stock car with no mods. I have a Honker and muffler mod and it would ping at WOT. Pinging started at around 4K RPM. It dynoed at a pathetic 304 hp. Had to add 12 % fuel to get minimal KRetard. Mine runs about .92 - .93 at WOT. Have not dynoed since then but it feels like I got 20 more hp now on top.

Unfortunatly I dont have anyone close to dyno my car. The only one (3 hours from me) did not want to do it on a Saturaday and wanted $500.00. I bought the predator on sale last year for $349.00 so it sounded like a better deal plus it did everything I wanted it to plus more. I figure I will send off for a custom tune some day to make the most of my predator.

Definately do NOT lean it out if you have knock! You can either add fuel (i.e., richen it) or subtract timing.

Try adding fuel initially. Then gather some Real Time Data stats, looking carefully at the Long Term Fuel Trims (ltft); they should be between 0 and -4 ideally. If you have positive numbers (ignore momentary fluctuations), then you are too rich. Once you get your trims set, try incrementally removing timing until the knock goes away.

Of course, the preceding assumes that your motor is mechanically sound, that your 02 sensors are properly functioning, and that you have good fuel (min. 91 octane). GL!

Can those adjustments be done with the predator ?

I can feel the car run and shift better but when hot I also get some knock at WOT...
