Default Disconecting problem

Has anyone ever had this problem? I was having a tune loaded into the PCM of my 99 6-speed and in the middle of writing it to the PCM it disconected. It did this about 30 more times and said the voltage was low. So I changed the battery and hooked the battery up to a running trucks battery and it drained a ton of voltage just having the interior lights on. And still the same problem. Well now I can't even start the car because I can't get a tune in it or a stock one for that matter. HP tuners was being used and the tunner is well known and has tuned over 200 cars. Any ideas?

never ran into that issue personally, you cant be charging the battery while reading/writing as far as I know though. Do you think the battery is bad or do you think its a connection issue? Is he using the new usb unit or an older serial interface?

He is using the USB interface. We tried it with and with out the jumper cables and it was the same result. I think there may be a bad relay or something draining the voltage as the car was running poor before hand.

Would charge battery completly in car and make sure laptop is charge complete. Then I would try to load tune if it still will not go I would rewrite whole program to PMC.

The PCM was fried, changed it out to the one from my Z28 and no problems, the pcm has the same problems in my Z28 as well.
