Default Code Issue

Hi,
I have been a quiet member for some time and have gotten lots of good information. I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have a 01 C5 and I am getting a 10-PCM code with no other numbers after it. Does that mean the Power Train Control Module itself is bad? I looked through the threads and I noticed all the codes are longer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a "Check Engine" light on? When you initiate the scan does it show any codes in any of the other area's? This is an excerpt from another threads on codes. Are you getting the "No More Codes" after the 10-PCM ??? If you are manually scroll through the rest of the modules to identify the one with the code.

The "Diagnostic Display Mode" is entered with the following procedure:
1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2) Press the "RESET" button to turn off any warning messages
3) Press and hold "OPTIONS"
4) While holding "OPTIONS", press "FUEL" four times within a 10-second period.

Initially, on-board diagnostics go into an "Automatic Mode" which shows diagnostic codes in a pre-set sequence: PCM - TCS - RTD - BCM - IPC - RADIO - HVAC - LDCM - RDCM - SCM - RFA. All codes will be displayed for each module. If none are present in a given module, you will see "No More Codes" on the display.

Once the system has displayed all modules, it goes into the manual mode which allows selection of each module using combinations of Driver Information Center buttons. Manual mode can also be entered during the automatic sequence by pressing any button except "E/M". Once the display shows "Manual Diagnostics", select a module by pressing the "OPTIONS" button to go forward or the "TRIP" button to go back. Once a module is selected, a code is displayed, and if more than one are present; press "GAGES" to go forward or "FUEL" to go back.
To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M". If you want to erase codes in a given module, press "RESET".
To reset the codes once in manual mode, press and hold "RESET" until it displays "NO CODES". Press "OPTIONS" to go to the next module.

I did the code search code over again and came up with 10-PCM (PO442 H C). I looked up the codes on the "Corvette Doctor" site and it didn't show a "PO442"......??????

04Z16,
Thanks, I really appreciate the information. I looked it up and turns out it was just my gas cap! Again, thanks!
