C5 Remote problem

C5 Remote problem
I own a 2000 C5 and the remote does not hold its code for very long - a day or two at best.
The remote battery is fairly new and the car will lock and unlock from 20+ feet away when its working.
Any ideas on why the remote is losing its activation capability?

Possibly the car battery itself falling below a set threshold, around 9VDC, when starting and losing track of the remote in the process.
I tested the battery today and all seems well. Thanks for the thought, though.
