Guys I need some knowledge here!. I have a 04 z06 that had a vortech supercharger setup installed at west coast corvettes.....and I assume the tuned it also? What all is included in the tune, is my question. Do they actually plug in a laptop and recal. the stock computer or what?? ALSO, the ls6 was stock and I just rebuilt it lowering the compression ratio, am I going to have to retune the car and would there be possible damage firing up the car and running it without a retune? Thanks for the help guys, I am new to this subject.
It sounds like to me they did not tune your car. If they installed they should have tuned it. If they tuned it like any good shop should they would have connected to your PCM through the OBDII port and used a tuning program like EFI live or HP tuners. I sent you a PM with my tuners info you he can get you on the right track. Goodluck . Oh and no driving your car won't hurt it, just stay out of boost.
if it runs, they tuned it. You have bigger injectors now and the air flows are way out of the stock tables. They should have given you both a dyno tune for WOT and a road tune for drivability.

Thanks guys for all of the input!! I actually bought the car after the kit was put on, so I wasnt provided with the documentation...but I figured it had to have been tuned because of the injector upgrade etc.. HERE IS A BIG QUESTION! The reason I am actually rebuilding the engine is because it broke a ring land (detonation?)...the car did not have a pcv catch system and was burning oil, wouldnt that cause the det. prob or does it sound like a bad tune?

Did it have breathers, or an evac pump, IE was there any way for the motor to vent the crankcase?

Yes, it was the stock pcv setup and it was def. sucking in oil, everytime I got on it it would puff blue smoke! The I/C setup and intake had oil residue also, so I know that the pcv was the issue...and I am thinking the build up of carbon on the piston was creating hot spots and making it detonate.....right?

Like middlebrookgt said they must have tune it if you upgraded the injectors. I had a PVC problem before also kept blowing out he dip stick on 1 or 2 psi. Solved now and runs hard . Take a look at your PM call Kushan and he will set you up. Goodluck on your rebuild.
