Computer & Sensor Testing Tool -vs- Handheld Tuners?
I am sure my asking the question will in itself validate my ignorance to the subject but I was hoping someone could help me to understand...
what is the major difference between something like an "Actron CP9145 Computer and Sensor Testing Tool" and a "DiabloSport Predator" besides a $100 cost difference between the two??
I borrowed a friend’s Actron CP9145 to read a code I have been getting (and was able to clear it) and I realize that the Actron CP9145 doesn't allow me to tune/tweak the engine performance, or rather, I don't think it can… and the DiabloSport Predator can obviously do the performance tuning... but can it do everything the Actron CP9145 can do PLUS the tuning stuff?

I used a Hypertech to get a little more timing, increase the shift points, increase firmness of shifts, increase the rev limiter, etc... The Predator will do the same, and possibly more.
The cool thing about our cars: You don't need a code reader. Just press a few buttons on the dash (DIC) and you can read the codes when ever you want:

I have even read/cleared codes while driving. (I had a wheel bearing/speed sensor going bad.)
Hope this helps.
