Default mail order ECU programming???

I'm looking to get a pro tune. After searching for a shop
close to Myrtle Beach, SC, I found that my choices are
limited. I was thinking about gouing to MTI Racing in
Marietta , Ga which is about 6 hours away. After looking at
their web site I noticed they offer a mail order ECU program
for $400.00. They have a 1 to 2 day turn around. My questions
are (1) is this alot better than a hand held tune such as a
Predator or Hypertech?? (2) would it be better to go to their shop
and do a Dyno Tune in shop?? My car is basically stock other than
a Borla Stinger catback and a SLP Blackwing CAI. Will a Pro Tune
be worth the money and will it be noticable in performance??
Sorry for being SOO long winded!!!!

Ps; Is there a tuner any closer to the Myrtle Beach, SC area???

I think a handheld tuner is a total waste of $$ and way overpriced for what you get---A mail order tune is better BUT they have to be somewhat generic -- without driving the car you cannot get the best performance out of it--2 identical cars can have different fuel trims and need differnt tuning--Best would be to take it to a shop and have them tune it there--But not just a WOT dyno pull--have them do a behind the wheel street driven tune as well to adjust the PT shift points ( for an A4) WOT shift points and all the downshift points too--
TCC lock-up and PT fuel trims in closed loop--

Thanks for the reply tblu92. I already decided to do a Dyno Pro tune.
I found a guy locally that has a pretty good reputation.
Talked to him and for 3 bills he will do 2 pulls and a street
tune. Can't wait to get it done!!!

Save you money until you get intake headers x pipe and even heads and cam, until you go for a good tuner. just got back from vengeance racing in cummings GA. Loved what they did for the car. but nothing is stock on it. But is a N/A Motor. And dont go the the hand stuff not really good....
