I used a Hypertech programmer # 30028 on my 1998 C5 Corvette Last year. Since then my roll away tool box was stolen out of my shop with the programmer in it. What am I to do if I want to bring my car back to factory specifications? Will another unused one work on my car or will I need to get a new computer for my car?
Yes, just the old one won't work on anything. lol on that sucker.
It doesn't "lock" the tune. You have to get HPtuners or the like to have a stock tune put in. The Hypertech doesn't do all that much anyway.. advances the timing a little, firms up shifts in automatics, will adjust for small changes in tire size or rear end ratios (very limited)
If you want to get the STOCK tune from EFILIVE---they are availiable for free from http://holdencrazy.com you can download a free demo version of EFILIVE from their website to open the file but will need to get someone with a licenced EFILIVE programmer to load it for you
