Default Programming Question

Hello all,

My wife's M3 has a 'sport' button on the dashboard that drastically alters the 'feel' of the car. After talking to the BMW tech about what this thing actually did to engine management, it became apparent that the greatest perceived effect was simply a result of a steeper curve on the processing of the values the throttle position sensor detects - they basically made the pedal more sensitive. I almost felt duped after learning this, but after driving the car with the switch in both positions for a while, I came to like the quicker response (once I got the hang of starting from a light without launching every loose object in the car to the trunk). My question is, can this type of response curve be programmed into a C5 computer and, if so, does anyone know where/how this can be done?

A few searches yielded no clues so I thought I'd post here - any info much appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan

Yes, you could alter the gas pedal to be more sensitive/shorter throw, but you're loosing a bit of the ability to pedal the car around...

don't think I'd do that, but, you could. I've adjusted the heck out of my A4 to shift later, harder, etc in every gear and every speed... it really makes the car feel much better with the 2.73 rear gear. Lost a bit of MPG in the city, but it's not really about that for me, it let me have the a4 drive like i would drive a stick. I guess it's just regret of not buying a manual lol!
