The load in third gear should be close enough to fourth gear, that you'd be good. The reason we do dyno pulls in 4th (manual, 3rd auto) is because that is the gear that gives the drivetrain a 1:1 ratio for more accurate dyno numbers.
First and Second tend to be a little leaner do the lighter engine load. It's pretty cool seeing the the AFR plotted on a graph over time like we can do with our Mustang Dyno's 1/4 Simulation. Where we might be at 13.0:1 AFR in fourth during our HP Tests, we could be 13.2:1 in the lower gears during a 1/4 Simulation.
