Default Need help with codes please.

My 01 coupe service engine light came on 2 weeks ago. As I was rusty with reading codes, and there seemed to be a lot of older [H] codes, I cleaned all codes away. Servive engine light went out but came back after 100 miles. Here is what I now read:
10-PCM, 2 codes, P0410 H C and 1431 H
BO-RFA, 2 codes, U1000 H and U1064 H

Thanks for the help

Hi--the P0410 is for the secondary air injection system--It does not specify which bank (left or right) so it is most likely something that affects both sides--make sure the air inlet hose is connected-and try to diagnose it from there
P1431 is a fuel level sensor code---Does your fuel gauge work correctly ?It could be a false code--see if it comes back

Both the U codes (U1000-U1064) have to do with loss of communication to the ECM---These codes are quite common--U1000 is a not communicating with the serial data & U1064 is the loss of that data---These are often set when the battery is disconnected or very low voltage---ALSO often aftermarket equip. such as stereos-amps etc will trip these type codes--Ultimately a true code of this nature could signify a bad ignition switch or shorted wiring---Most likely they are false codes and not an issue--just annoying---However if you begin to notice other things popping up that may be related to the key or switch then i would look further into it---

OK Thanks for the info. I'll work on this.
I understood that a code followed by an H is a history code and not a current problem. I was told a code followed by a C is an existing [current] problem. Am I wrong on this?

Good info guys thanks. I printed it off.
So back to my first post. Since the H codes are history, the only code I need worry about is the 10PCM- P0410HC correct?
That code rings a bell. Last year it came on and I posted here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...scan-help.html
I ended up installing a new "in the box air pump" and the problem was solved for quite a while.
It is odd that it has returned, but we will look closer into this.
Last question. Why is it that if I delete old codes followed by an H, they return?? As I said, after I deleted all codes a week ago, I had a clean slate. If the only current problem is the 10PCM - P0410, why do the old H codes return??
