Misfire problem
I haven't used my car much since last year. About 3 weeks ago it ran out of gas. I wasn't using the car so it only had a few gallons in it. So from pulling in and out of the garage it finally ran out. I added 5 gallons of premium. Car ran fine.
I finally got time to drive the car and took it out, after driving a few minutes I got an engine miss and DTC code 0308. I put some injector cleaner in it. I put the whole bottle in the 5 gallons. I also checked the plug and wire on cylinder 8. All was fine. I took it out and the car ran great after 10 minutes of driving. I thought problem solved.
Well I took it and filled it up and took it for a ride and the problem came back after about 45 minutes of use. Now I still get the 0308 code but I also got a 0300 code one time after I had erased the 0308 code.
I want to think that there isn't anything mechanical wrong because the problem went away and came back. I was leaning towards the injector being dirty or starting to go bad. Well I put more cleaner in the gas and took it out for another ride and it stayed the same.
The only mods to the car-- I changed the air intake to one of those dual cone types and I had a mild tune put into it. I don't think either one would cause this problem considering it happened to just one cylinder.
