Vortech, power drops off at high RPM
My car has an older Vortech kit and there is a flat spot in the mid 5K rpm area where acceleration is not as brisk as everywhere else. I got new cats today and it seems much worse now, though the roads are wet and I didn't have many chances to verify yet. Why would power be dropping off like that?
I am guessing it's blower related.. maybe that's where it hits peak psi and vents the rest? No clue though
Here's a dyno chart (redacted to get rid of any numbers ) from last week where you can see it happen:

Do you have a boost gauge? Whats the boost doing? Could be belt slip or a boost leak. Most of the cars i see with belt slip have the hp graph look like your tq graph does.

Given what I've seen with this car so far, it would not be surprising if I was running something hilarious like stock springs. I'll pop a valve cover off this weekend and see if that is the case.
I do have a boost gauge, will keep an eye on it next time.

Man it's impossible to look at the A pillar when at the top of third. However, it's pretty dry out tonight and the power loss was nowhere near as bad as yesterday. The slipping belt theory gains... traction...
Ahem.
