Default Using AutoEngenuity tool for Tech 2 functions

I recently bought the autoenginuity tool with the enhanced GM package for use with my newly acquired 2000 Corvette.

Specifically, I am trying to use the 2000 service manual to diagnose why my cruise control is not working. The service manual provides very detailed, step by step tests using the Tech 2 tool to diagnose what is wrong.

I hooked up the autoenginuity product today to just poke around and see if I could figure things out, though I have little experience with scan tools.

I can't figure out how to access things like the cruise control diagnostics that the service manual discusses.

Can anyone with one of these tools help me out? Am I able to use the autoenginuity tool to do these diagnostic tests described in the service manual?

I don't have any experience with a Tech 2. But an OBD-II scanner isn't the same thing. The Tech II does much more. Just to compare, look at the price difference. Cheapest OBD-II scanner might cost you $50. Tech II cost like $2000+ used on ebay.

Lou99Vette is correct the tech2 is more than a scan tool but you should be able to find the DTC codes for Cruz control with the scan tool (the DIC for that mater).

Good luck

My desire in buying the Autoengenuity tool was to have it be able to do most of the same tests that the Tech 2 can do - apparently it cannot.

In the service manual, there are various diagnostic tests that are conducted with the Tech 2 device. One of them involves testing the cruise control, which is what I need to do to figure out what is wrong. The Autoenginuity seems to be unable to do any of this.

If anyone knows how, please let me know.
