Last year I put in a new air intake, GHL's and had professionally tuned.
The Vette runs great, but at around 2300 rpm's I get the pinging sound. At no other time does it do this. There are no codes appearing.
Should I sea foam for carbon build-up, change the knock sensor or ???
Any valid ideas or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
The early C5's (97-00) had some bad knock sensors and many replace them with the newer style like yours---i haven't seen many bad senors after 01---You can try to seafoam it---It is easy and a cheap try to fix it--More than likely the gas formulation in your state changes seasonally and it may acuse pinging-especially at cruise or P/T operation when getting on the gas slightly-If seafoam doesn't do it--you should have your tuner do some spark data logging and remove some timimg exactly where it needs it-
