Default Reading PCM?

My buddy has the EFI live software and he seems to be having a difficult time connecting it to PCM (not physically). We can’t figure out how to get it locked to my PCM to read the tune, the PCM is not locked. What is the easiest way to get this to work? We have purchased the credits already and we must be doing something wrong. Thanks for the help. Are there any directions for this type of thing?

First, your battery has to be in good shape, with the terminals torqued to 11 ft./lbs. Then you have to have power at the ODBII connector. Then doors closed, heater off, radio off, any after market stuff off. Then ignition on, and wait until the heater display shows the outside temperature - about 10 seconds - then start reading.
