about 1 yr ago my 2001 started to set codes c1232, c1233 and c1248, I think due to a near lightning strike. I replaced the EBCM and the problem was solved. Now I'm getting code c1287 and a service active handling message. This car only has 7400 miles on it, has never seen a wet road and is not driven aggressively. My question is: Is it possible to eliminate ABS TC and AH? If I remove fuse 5 and 52, are there bulbs in the dash that can be removed to eliminate the TC and ABS lights?

Thank You
I would recommend against turning off Active Handling. If you make too sudden of an evasive maneuver, it can save you and the car.
When I was getting the C1287 code, the steering wheel position sensor was going out. It can (and did) send false data to my EBCM when I was on the freeway. The EBCM then started to randomly apply left or right front brakes for no reason (car thinks you are in a slide). It pulled me half into the thankfully unoccupied center lane. Have it tested soon and replaced if needed (~$350 at a dealer)
When the DIC is saying "service active handling", is AH disabled?
Also when in competitive mode is AH fully on. I've gotten different opinions on that. If it's the same as traction control off, why 2 modes?
This is very dissipointing for a car with only 7400 miles on it. My 67 never did this stuff to me.
I'm not sure if the differing year models have different functional behavior. When my car popped that code out it it said "Service Active Handling". Traction Control was disabled, AH was not. The TC light on the dash also was illuminated.
If your SWPS is bad, it is only ~$80. Some on this forum have replaced it themselves.
I'm sure your 67 did not have these issues. However, you really can't compare today's drive-by-wire features to 1967 when being able to receive FM broadcast was considered the "new thing".
Just checked the voltage on the lt blue wire on the SWPS. It reads .9v in the center and goes up as I turn rt and down as I turn lt. Someone told me it should read 2.4-2.6v in the center. I think I'm going to replace the sensor. My only concern there is the air bag.
