I just picked up a 97 C5 automatic. It has a stumble around 2000-2500 rpm, and is generally low on power, most notably under light acceleration. At wide open throttle, or even 3/4 it throws a series of codes consistantly: P0131, P0137, P0151, P0157. These are all O2 sensore low voltage codes. We hooked up a scanner and drove it, and the sensors are reading, and are swinging properly. It looks like it is leaning out significantly. I have checked for vacumme leaks by spraying around the engine, but found nothing.
If I erase the codes, they will stay off until the first time I get on it, then codes instantly. It acts like it is low on fuel pressure, but I drove it with a gauge laying on the windshield, and it is consistantly just above 55 psi, even while it is stumbling.
How many mile of the car? Find a bottle of Techron and pour that in the gas tank - fill the rest with 93oct. This'll help clean the fuel lines and injectors. If the car gets better over time, but could use more help, use another bottle of Techron.
Any mods on the car? Pull the fuse box next to the battery and check the fuse(s) for the O2s.
seems as if they are just not heating up properly or you have an exhaust restriction of leak ---the 2 sides are connected via the H-pipe so even a leak on one side can affect both---
When going to WOT the FRONT 02's aren't being used at all to fuel the engine--( power enrichment mode)--they are only used during part throttle operation or "closed loop mode "
PS the rear 02's don't have a general duty to fuel the engine in closed loop--their job is to cool the cats down when they become overheated---by adding additional fuel so they do change the fueling somwhat but not directly
