I just had my car tuned by a local tuner and after I got it back, the reverse lockout on the transmission of my Mn6 no longer works? WHile driving and wanting to shift to 5th gear I now have to be very careful not to "grind" going into reverse. This was not a problem at all before the tune. The guy was using HP tuners. I want to know if it is possible if he accidentally changed something in the program. He says it is nothing he did and it was just bad timing. I hooked up a "EASE SCan"
program and it says it is working, but I don't know if the the MPH engaement is right. I know it supposed to make the solenoid "lock-out" after the car starts moving a couple of miles an hour, but I can't tell if that was changed?
Unlikely it is tune related--Probably the only thing he may have tuned on your M6 was the "skip shift" feature
It may be speedo related however--did he tune for aftermarket tire size ??
Thanks guys for your input. I just brought the car back to the tuner and He flashe the PCM with a tech2 and re-installed the tune and all is well. He said that the new PCM had a conflict in it. ALl I know is it works now and I'm happy.
