My brother gave me a check for one of these If I wanted to get one.
I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about it. It seems like the corvette can do a lot of this stuff (and I have an obdscan tool also)
But If I can change things like shift points, or delete sensors and things like that, it might be kind of cool. I would just use my android phone or laptop for it. Using an app like Torque, OBDroid, Voyager Connect.
I am not sure about the scantool you are linking to above. (link didnt work, I will google in a second)I have the innovative motorsports ODBII port scan that has a wireless network built in. It seems pretty cool when it works, biggest problem is the wireless network goes down and I have to reconnect. Seems like bluetooth is a better way for the devices to communicate so maybe the tool you mention has a more reliable comm interface.
With my ODBII stuff, it is pretty much a read only setup. I can read codes and reset codes but I havent used it in that capacity yet. i am glad you posted, I needed to get back into this project. Ultimately, I will be able to read all my gauges from my iPad...I just need to get it to work....
i had bought my handheld scanner a few years ago. to use on my cars that arent as awesome as the vette. and now that I have that, I can delete the codeson the DIC.
It seems as if you cant "tune" with the obdlink bluetooth (and some type of program or application) its somewhat useless to me. The vette already has all the monitoring systems. given the gauges arent there. But I dont want to always have my phone sitting there for some tiny gauges. Or a huge ipad sitting on my dash just so I can see gauges that I already have.

I bought one from a Hong Kong vendor on FleaBay. Cost was $.01 plus $19.99 shipping. It took about 3 weeks to arrive.
I got it, installed the software in my laptop before I realized it does not have bluetooth.
I tried to use my iPhone to pair but my iPhone did not pick up the Bluetooth signal. I see the light on the dongle but can't figure out how to get it to pair up.
I bought it with the idea of using my iPhone as a monitor instead of my laptop. But I have HP Tuners Pro which comes with a MVPI dongle that records scans but I have to use a big cable.
