I have a 2002 pcm automatic trans in a twin turbo gtm. I am trying to get the cruise control functioning. everthing works properly except when I use the scanner for testing the functions ,the brake pedal is always depressed. I would like to know what pcm pin controls this so I can disable it because it will not let the cruise control to function with the brake depressed. thank you for the help.
When the brake pedal is depressed---2 things ALWAYS occur----
1. if you have an automatic the TQ converter is UNLOCKED
2. On any car when the brake is depressed the cruise control in dis-engaged --this is a safety feature so thre thrittle won't get stuck open--can't be changed---and whty would yoy want to ? it will save your life !!
PS If you aren't actually pressing on the brake but the logger/scanner shows it is depressed--that's someting else--You have a bad brake switch or it's out of adjustment--
no you are not understanding what I am asking. I know when you press the brake it turns off the cruise. The pcm thinks the brake pedal is depressed always ,it is not and the switch and brake lights work fine. I say it is an automatic because the pcm and harness are from a automatic doner car and have different configuations than a standard shift car. I need to know which pinouts monitor this circut .
OK I understand what you mean---however I don't know the correct pin-out --you'll have to get a GM mamual with a wiring detail---BUT even if it's a 6 speed---the brake pedal still de -activates the cruise control when depressed same as the A4
ALSO----My EFILIVE tuner does show a " vehicle platform table" where you can disable the cruise control circuit or enable it----Not sure if HP has this feature---When doing engine or ECM retrofit installations -you have to make sure all the appropriate boxes are checked for the car's options---
If the doner car's ECM didn't have cruise control and yours does--You may have to enable it with a tuner to get it to work---
