Just had a new engine built and installed in my 02. Car has a pro charger blower on it. Engine was built from a new block up. It has a mild cam that was installed when the blower was put on. The cam sensor comes on after about 10 miles, I have disconnected the battery to reset the code and it has done it 3 times now. The guy that built the engine ohmed out the wiring and the connector is in good shape. The service manager at a local Cadilac dealership suggested shimming the sensor, which I totally disagree with, and that did not work. Any sugesstions would be appreciated.
Is the code the p0343? Are you saying sensor has been checked, wiring checked and connection. If you have ruled those out it could be cam bolts backing out, happened to me with that code and a few others.

Reason: spelling
My stock 02 z06 just threw code 0343, Its being taken to the shop tom. It wont start at all. I think it might be a sensor issue on mine. All the research that I have done nine times out of ten the guys with built cars are having the cam bolts back out. If thats the case dont drive the car you can ruin the motor there is another thread on this forum thats 3 pages long of guys with this issue. I think I have a broke wire or a moisture issue.
Any time you install a cam or any internal moving parts (crank-cam etc) --you need to make your ECM re-learn it's crank position
This is eaily done with any TECH II device or with HP or EFILIVE
Just peform the "crank position re-learn procedure" and it should realearn the position and the codes should go away----Not to mention run a lot better !!
