Changing tire sizes and program parameters
Do I enter the overall diameter or just the rolling diameter? I assumed the rolling diameter but the Service Traction Control problem arises if there is even the slightest bit of spin on the rears.
PS: However when making a GEAR CHANGE on a C5 do NOT make any corrections --because the speedo sensor on a C5 is on the output side of the axle and not on the input side of the trans like on a camaro/silverado-
ALSO very important--The ABS and traction control systems uses data from the wheel speed sensors at each wheel location
The ABS uses the sensors to keep the tires from SKIDDING during a hard stop
The TC uses the sensors to keep the tires from SPINNING at a hard launch
Tire sizes overall don't matter HOWEVER it is VERY important to never let the tire height differance between the front and rears to be much off more than 1" This is called the "split" example rear height 26" front height 25"-----This is NOT progarable or changable and is permantley set into your ECM /brake contoller and BCM--(the rears always should be taller ) If you deveiate too much both your ABS and TC systems may not work properly or not at all--(hence your codes)
