Scanning software
First time on the C5 forum (C4 guy) so y'all be nice now. I have Datamaster and Tuner Pro and my AKM cables for the OBD1 stuff. I have an OBD2 cable also but no scanning software. I have no OBD2 stuff except kinda my 95 Vette. (But not really) My 95 Impala SS is straight OBD1.
I've ran across several later model (OBD2) cars that have check engine lights and I'd like the ability to diagnose their problems. Is there any scanning software available that will enable me to hook up my laptop and scan different cars from different manufacturers.
I'd rather not get a purpose made scanner because they don't give the specific sensor information that I'd like.....at least I don't think so. My nephew is getting his first car and we've found a 2004 Impala with a SES light and I'd like to know what's going on. I guess I'll purchase a Carfax to see if anything major has been reported.
