A couple months ago I traded out my Borla Stingers for 04 Z06 TIs on my 2001 C5 A4 vert.Yesterday I was getting the Stingers ready to sell and when I pulled them apart I noticed that they were extremly black and had quite a bit of soot in them which,I believe would mean that I am running very rich.I am completely stock except for the TIs with Quad tips. So,do I need a tune and if so what do you recomend.
Thanks for any help here.
FRED
No not beacuse of the black in the exhaust--In winter--the exhaust accululates lots of moisture and that will turn the insides black--
If your car was running RICH at PT --enough to make the pipes black--you would certainly get some "rich codes "--
If your engine is basically stock as you say--your WOT fuel is a "little" rich by design--but not enough to cause black pipes
