Injectors
I live in Chicago so the car is put up about 5 months out of the year. When it is not it is my daily driver.
you should be able to log your duty cycles with most any scanner---The problem if you go to a too large of an injector is that the idle and off idle tuning can be a bitch---surging/dying/idle hunting can result---On my '98 with apprx 400 RWHP I still use the stock 28 lb injectors-(same as yours)-My duty cylces at the end of a drag pass go up to 92%--the car still performs well--As long as you let the injectors cool down between runs it's fine--Or on the street don't run at WOT for a long long time without a cool down--
ALSO Just my opinion and experience-- a 90/90 combo is an overkill for a stock cam/heads engine--The cost is pricey--and to me you'd be better off speding the $$ elsewhere--I would get a CAM !!! 1st
My car is an A4 so my RWHP is lower but if my car had a 6 speed it would have smiliar RWHP to yours---
I run an older FAST 78 with a Shaner T-body
You may gain a few RWHP with that set-up BUT only at the higher RPM ranges--from around 6400 on up--And LOSE bottom end HP and most importantly bottom end TQ--- To me it's just not worth the $$$
you will leave power on the table if the manifold is not ported correctly. There are very few I would trust to port it.Or, the Fast 102 provides excellent results with no additional port work, the down side is a potential fit issue with the 102. That seems to vary car to car.
If you do a little searching C5 & 6 regarding the Fast 90/92 & 102, look for comments by Tony Mamo & Spinmonster. You will find the gains are substantial!
My guess is your injector's are fine, just log them as Bill suggested. If you find you need to change them I have a lightly used set of Red Top SVO's with the correct data for a bargain price.
Just found this over on LS1:
