Default Specific PCM Re-Pin Question

I am going to be tackling the project of re-pinning my '97 PCM to an '02 for tuning purposes on a TT build. My question is, when I order the flashed PCM do I give them my VIN to put in it? Will the car be driveable enough to get it to a tuner once its installed? What should I be asking to qualify a tuner for this specific type of work (PCM swapped 2-bar TT)?? Thanks.

Yes give them your vin and it should be driveable. Make sure they use efi live so they can do a vin swap, hp tuners will not allow you to do this. In NY your vin and your ecu must match your reg for a inspection. Also make sure they do a fuel segment swap from your 97 table. I would also go 3 bar tune which means you will need to buy a 3 bar map. Ecs has lots of experience in this so does Ed Hutchinson at hitech tuning. Ed will also tune your whole car remotely which is a big bonus.
