p 300 code
hi
i have c5zo6 2001 and install 408 engine and every thing is ok but i have light check engine came and go and when i check the trouble code i found thes code
p 300 engine mis fire
What are the causes for thes code
Note that everything is good and the car performed very excellent ..

Do you have a performance camshaft? If so the P0300 misfire code will set. In the tune, max the idle & low RPM misfire tables. Leave the medium & high RPM misfire tables stock, that way if you have an actual misfire, the misfire code will set.

A P0300 ( random misfire code is common for many modded engines---Most often they are a "false code" however you still need to address it----If you continue to get a p0300 code your car will eventually go into reduced power mode--and even drop into the "low Octane timing table" On an automatic car it will also prevent the TQ converter from locking up-----Good news is that any tuner can permanently delete or desensitize the misfire tables so it never pops up again---
Reason ? an engine that is non stock with a cam or forged internals or stiffer valve train tends to create "different noises" different vibrations than a stock engine----Which the computer interprets as either knock or misfire
