Unknown message solution
Thank you for allowing me to post my question. First, a little background. I purchased a 1998 Corvette 2 years ago. I am the 3rd owner. The car is very well maintained, garaged, and only driven in good weather. It has only 42K original miles. Now the problem. After having driven the car for approximately 1 hour I parked it in my driveway while I wiped the road dust off of it. When I attempted to drive it into my garage the engine died and the following message appeared on the dashboard: "pull key and wait 10 seconds". I did and the car restarted without any problem. I asked my local mechanic about this and he suggested looking for a GM recall notification. I did, but found that there was 'no current recall for this vehicle'. Here is my question. Does anyone know what may have caused this? I am concerned that it may happen again while I am driving and that could cause a serious problem. Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.
